KIPBIO® is a family of tailor-made compounds based on Bio-PE. All KIPBIO types are based on the renewable raw material sugar cane® and thus make a valuable contribution to the conservation of fossil resources. The use of bioplastics also reduces the marketing of conventional plastics – a welcome saving, especially for end customers. In addition, the use of renewable raw materials can contribute to the reduction of harmful greenhouse gas emissions: During its growth, the sugar cane plant absorbs CO2 from the atmosphere and stores it. If the plant is subsequently used for the production of plastics, the absorbed CO2 remains bound in the plastic and finished product throughout the entire product life cycle.
All KIPBIO® granules are bio-based. Due to the resistance of the compound, products with a long service life can be realized. And best of all, the durability of the material makes the products not only sustainable, but also attractively priced. At the end of their useful life, products made of KIPBIO® can be fully integrated into existing polymer material flows, they are 100% recyclable.
Renewable raw materials combined with recyclates: KIBDUR rPP combines the advantages of bioplastics with those of recycled plastics
KIBDUR® rPP compounds are hybrids that combine recyclates and bio-based raw materials while being fully recyclable. These compounds offer the advantage that technical properties can be adjusted even more constantly and the process capability can be optimized.
Depending on the application, a high-quality polypropylene post-consumer (PCR) or post-industrial recyclate (PIR) is combined with a bio-based plastic to produce the compounds.
KIBDUR® rPlastic thus makes a significant contribution to a functioning circular economy. The use of plastics based on renewable raw materials conserves fossil resources and sustainably reduces harmful greenhouse gas emissions. By recycling plastics, these valuable materials are kept in the cycle and plastic products are thus made more sustainable.
At the end of their service life, products made of KIBDUR® rPlastic can be recycled in existing disposal systems. The processing conditions and mechanical properties correspond to those of KIBDUR® Plastic or fossil PP virgin material. KIBDUR® rPlastic grades are characterized by high impact strength combined with toughness and are a direct drop-in solution.
Advantages of KIBDUR® rPlastic at a glance:
Bio-based content of up to 33%
KIBDUR® Plastic with high-quality post-consumer PP recyclate (PCR)
Sustainable use of valuable resources
Mechanical properties comparable to KIBDUR® PP or standard PP
KIPLAN® is a family of technically mature and innovative biopolymers that combines renewability, biodegradability and compostability. The natural raw material basis of these PLA blends (polylactic acid blends) is, for example, corn, sugar cane or castor oil.
All KIPLAN products are fully biodegradable (according to EN 13432) and are based entirely or partly on renewable raw materials. In addition, the majority of KIPLAN® granules meet the requirements of national and international compostability standards (EN 13432, ASMT D 6866) and are therefore considered certified compostable bioplastics.
Products made of KIPLAN® are just as powerful and resilient as products made of conventional plastics. Compared to starch-based bioplastics, KIPLAN® is more resistant to mechanical stress and moisture.
